| Post subject: | Bus Duct Labeling |
Hello, I searched the labeling forum and didn't see this address but I apologize if I missed it someplace. What is everyone doing for labeling on a bus duct? Labeling entire bus with the worst case AFH? Prominently marking bus where AFH changes and labeling each side accordingly? |

If it is not Quote: likely to require examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance while energized (NEC 110.16) then I don't see why it has to be labeled.

Thank you but I was thinking of where there are bus duct plug ins and the possibly of disconnects being plugged in to the bus duct at various locations along the bust duct. |

I see a some labeling just on the incoming section. But, it seems most people label every 20-30 feet or so. I have no customers that label busway with multiple incident energy values. Our policy is to recommend the use the worst case for the run. |

We label every section of duct, both sides, with the worst case scenario IE. |

It has been awhile since this post and here is what I am doing: 1. Determine the worst case arc flash hazard on the bus duct which is usually at the end of the bus duct run. 2. Discuss with the client on what their preference is for labeling. This has been varied: *one label at beginning junction box *labels on each side alternating every X ft *labels on beginning junction box and at the end of the bus duct. |
