This question may be specific to EasyPower, but I welcome input from other software users as well.
In EasyPower, you can model multiple group motors as one monitor. This is usually done as a convenience for capturing multiple fractional hp motors within a system where the individual motor's fault current is low but adds up. I don't use SKM but I believe it has something similar.
If you guys use this function, how do you model protection for said motor groups, especially when fuse types may be different from one motor to the next? Do you add the amperages of the motor fuses up, and test out the results with various fuse types available? Or is there another method you'd recommend?
I've seen other engineers' one-lines showing a group motor element on a bus (on a control panel and/or MCC bus, for example), without any protection, but showing the total HP. I don't know if this is how they modeled the system, or if this is just an after-the-fact visual representation of what's there.
