This Arc Flash training course is based on OSHA, NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584 and is designed to provide students with an understanding of arc flash and its causes as well as providing appropriate hazard assessment. This Arc Flash training class will address the arc flash event, the effect of overcurrent devices and short circuit current magnitudes on arc flash, limited, restricted and prohibited approach boundaries, correct personnel protective equipment and many other topics.

This 1 day arc flash training course is part of the 2 day program on Arc Flash Hazard Analysis by Jim Phillips. This arc flash training class takes you through the steps required to perform a detailed arc flash study. Students will perform in depth calculations of incident energy, arcing current and flash protection boundaries based on the various methods of NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584. There will also be a demonstration on how to perform the study using a commercially available computer program.
